Offering young children an exceptional early childhood experience

Jamie Michaels is the owner and director at Clever Endeavors Early Care & Education, Inc. She has owned and operated the school since 1992. After the birth of her sons, she left the steel industry to open the school and pursue a career that afforded her the opportunity to spend time with her children. Jamie attended Fullerton College and earned an associates degree in child development. She continued her education at Ashford University receiving her bachelor's degree in business focusing on organizational management. She holds her Child Development Program Director Credential through the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing, which fulfills requirements for teaching as well as directing two sites. Jamie's two sons were her inspiration for opening Clever Endeavors 17 years ago, and she thoroughly enjoys managing the daily operations of the school.

Amanda found her calling for early childhood education while taking an elective course in high school for preschool teachers. The class prepared her in many ways for working in the field. She fell in love with the field when she was hired by a preschool looking for afternoon teachers. Amanda spent several years exploring and expanding her role as a teacher through classroom experiences as well as through continuing her education at Saddleback Community College. She joined the staff at Clever Endeavors Early Care & Education, Inc. in May 2010 and teaches in our two- and three-year-old classrooms. Amanda has her California state teacher credential.
Some of her other passions include cheering for the Angels, hanging out with friends, and spending time with her mom, dad and younger sister. In addition to teaching, Amanda plans to pursue a degree in nursing.

Angela Rogers is the kindergarten teacher at Clever Endeavors Early Care & Education, Inc. and holds the distinction of being the school's first teacher. Angela grew up in Southern California, and attended Fullerton College before earning her degree in child and adolescent development at California State University, Fullerton. She holds her Child Development Site Supervisor Credential through the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing. Angela earned her master's degree in Education Technology from Azusa Pacific.
Before she became interested in early childhood education, Angela worked as a swim instructor and lifeguard for the cities of Fullerton and Yorba Linda. In a short time, she discovered she really enjoyed working with the four, five, and six year olds. This discovery motivated Angela to pursue a teaching career.

In addition to swimming, Angela also enjoys art. She believes art is indeed a window into one's soul. Art is relaxing, therapeutic, and promotes creativity and individuality. Angela strives to incorporate rich art experiences within the kindergarten curriculum, linking it to language and literacy.

Karina Alejo is the three-year-old teacher at Clever Endeavors Early Care & Education, Inc. and has been with the school since it opened in June 2006. Karina graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a major in child and adolescent development and an emphasis on early childhood development. Karina obtained her California teaching credential in 2007, and has been working in the field for seven years. She holds her Child Development Site Supervisor Credential through the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing. Besides teaching, Karina loves to spend time with her nephews Andrew and Eli. They love going to Disneyland together and riding the Buzz Lightyear ride!

Sarah Shawesh graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a bachelor's degree in child and adolescents studies, with a focus on early childhood development and a concentration on language and literacy. She holds her Child Development Site Supervisor Credential through the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing. Sarah started working with young children in a church nursery about ten years ago. That experience led to her love of the early childhood field. Along with studying the field, Sarah has worked in classrooms of all ages; infancy through pre-kindergarten. Sarah joined the Clever Endeavors Early Care and Education, Inc. staff in September 2009.

Stacy Lorenz has been a teacher of the 3's and 4's at Clever Endeavors Early Care & Education, Inc. since 2006, beginning with the school's inaugural fall session in Orange. Prior to joining the staff here, Stacy was a teacher at a Montessori school in Costa Mesa for 10 years. Stacy earned her associate's degree in early child education as well as her California state teacher credential. Stacy has worked in the early childhood education field for over 17 years. Stacy is a mother of two and enjoys spending time with her family. In her spare time she likes to read, run and swim.

Tammy Hoover graduated from San Diego State University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in child development. She worked in the corporate world for a number of years in various capacities ranging from executive assistant to recruiting and training. Tammy began volunteering at Clever Endeavors Early Care & Education, Inc. in November 2006 when her son started preschool in Miss Karina's class. In February 2007, Tammy was hired part-time as a teacher for a new two-year old classroom. Tammy now works in the office on a variety of administrative projects including our NAEYC accreditation, monthly newsletters and Scholastic book orders. Tammy possesses a California state site supervisor level teaching credential and can fill in as a substitute teacher or school director as needed.
